Construction report "Pilot Cutter Britannia" 1 : 24

Hello

After the construction is before the construction!!!

The construction trailer is tidied up and I am full of energy.

After I have completed the RAU IX (driving pictures and videos to follow) I will now start with the Britannia from

"Mountfleet Models".

Here are the first pictures and a link

Let's see how it looks.

Hello! I've made some progress again. I repaired the window frame, glued on the bulwark, made the foremast, and put everything in its place.

superstructures

Hello!

I've finally found some time again.

I've finished building the bridge...lamp, roof, roof antennas, door.

I've glued on the anchor winch and positioned the skylights.

Wheelhouse and superstructure

Here’s another small upgrade.
I’ve attached the lifebuoys, the chain, the chain diverter, and the chain guide tube, and glued in a few more portholes.

Rudder linkage

Hi, I finally managed to get some building done again and finished the rudder linkage.

Britannia

Hi there,

I’ve done a bit of research.

ChatGPT helped me out a little with that.

It looks like my build log for the Britannia is pretty unique.

Apparently, the Britannia didn't actually exist as a pilot boat; most vessels of this type were designed for fishing, or later for the navy.

ChatGPT found an interesting page that I wanted to share with you all.

I hope the link works.

Aftermast

The mizzenmast is demanding everything I’ve got. Not all the parts are numbered on the construction plan, and the instructions don’t mention anything either—so it’s a process of elimination.

I’ve secured the mast at the base, inside the deckhouse, with a screw. The clamp is just there to hold the sail rings in place at the top so that I can work on the lower section.
