Battery driven motors

Thanks for that Paul, just as I thought, I think the one I asked to be identified on the post is a tiddler maybe 400 but not sure. For the price of a motor I will order a new one and maybe even power it with 4 x AA batteries to reduce weight, its not as if it will often be on the lake.
Still curious about the chairs when you get a minute.

Battery driven motors

Hi Chris, you are bang on, the 600 is a bit too powerful. The slipper launch is a fairly slow river boat, not made for racing. I recommend a 500 size brushed motor as a good option. keep the battery voltage to 6v -7.4v

Battery driven motors

As I know little or nothing about small electric motors I am hoping someone will spare the time to answer the following questions to help me power a 36" model of a Slipper Launch.
I have a couple of 600 motors knocking about but I think they would have more power than needed.
I have a smaller motor believed to be a 20+ year old Graupner motor with the following markings.
E700.800.94 16/6. would this push the model along at a stately speed.
If the answer to these questions is no then a recommendation for a suitable motor would be appreciated.
Many thanks ChrisG
