À propos de ce bateau

I worked on building the original boat in 1976 when I was 16. I crewed on her in 1981 for 2 months, participating in the bicentennial of the Battle of Yorktown. The model is intended to display the boat as she appeared during my time on her in the Fall of 1981.
Specs:
Scale: 1:20
Hull length: 54" (137.16cm)
Length on deck: 48" (121.9cm)
Length on waterline w/o rudder: 46.75" (118.75cm)
Length over the rig: 81.5" (207cm)
Beam: 13.625" (34.6cm)
Draft without ballast fin keel: 5.875" (14.9cm) about 11" with
Ballast bulb on fin weights 25 pounds.
Total height (top of jack-yard to bottom of fin): 61.6" (156.5cm)
Total Sail area: 2,205.13 square inches in 8 sails.

While the original did have an engine, the model will not. Having only a 25mm prop and a 6 volt system, I felt there was no way her drive could over-come all that sail. She'll have a dummy prop and rely on sail propulsion alone.

Hello, I'm new to this site and just saw your post about the Pride of Baltimore.
It must have been quite an experience to be a crew member on the original vessel.
    the model looks great!
I was aboard the Pride of Baltimore II years ago. I believe it was modified from the original for safety reasons.
